Authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine! Great food! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I’ve eaten here two days in a row and have been very pleased with the meals. Not every northeastern restaurant can prepare the Northeastern-Style Braised Pork with Glass Noodles as deliciously as it tastes when cooked at home in China. The crispy prawns are just right! Prawns are good quality too. I will definitely come back here again!

Finally tried this place after seeing all the hype on social media and it definitely lives up to the hype! I came at 9pm so there was no line but it was still pretty full! The guobarou is the must try in my opinion - it's so crispy and the sweet and sour sauce is amazing.

The only downside was the wait; we spent approximately an hour and a half to be seated at the restaurant. However, every dish was exceptional, with the exception of the eggplant, which was slightly overseasoned. Overall, the experience was delightful.

The mungbean noodles are so good here. I thought all the dishes were well balanced seasoning wise, maybe slightly saltier/sour and needs to be eaten with rice. The double fried sweet and sour pork was great, although could have more pork and less batter. The fried eggplant was indeed very good as others have suggested. A vinegar taste makes it unique and taste like that cold dish with eggplant and vinegar that we used to eat in china.

This Burwood spot is all about hearty, homestyle Northern Chinese cooking . The food is authentic and portions are generous, perfect for sharing with family or friends. The restaurant is always busy—better to come early. When it’s full, there’s usually a sign-up sheet stuck to the window, where you write your name and group size. Staff then call names in order, so be ready to wait outside for your turn. We ordered: Double-Cooked Pork Slices ($24.80) – tender slices of pork coated in a glossy sweet sauce, savory with caramelized edges. Tossed Mung Clear Noodles & Mixed Vegetables in Sesame Sauce ($16.80) – light, nutty, and refreshing with a fragrant sesame finish. Stewed Pork Ribs Hotpot ($32.80) – hearty hotpot filled with pork ribs, potato, and corn, served with soft steamed bread that’s perfect for soaking up the broth. Every dish came out fresh and flavorful, a true showcase of authentic Northern Chinese flavors that’s hard to find in Sydney.

Decide on your menu in advance and go right when they open for dinner! That way, you can eat quickly, haha. The guobaorou and the flat glass noodles with peanut sauce are delicious!

Very tasty food. Nothing is overly sweet, salty or spicy. Everything is just right in terms of its flavour profile. *Tossed mung clear noodle was nutty with right amount of flavour profile *Braised pork- meat just fell of the bones with well flavoured broth *Double cooked pork slices with sweet and sour - perfectly deep fried and crispy pork slices with sauce that has perfect balance of sweet and sour *crispy eggplant is a must!! *Candied sweet potatoes had perfectly spun sugar coating You have to wait a while but food is tasty and very reasonably priced. I wish I could keep this place a secret!

The Mog Champ sends his regards. Getting in the restaurant was a long wait, about 45 mins during prime dinner time. Was the wait worth it? Definitely. We ordered a total of 8 dishes between the 5 of us. The dishes came out within 5-10 mins of ordering as well! Super quick service. Had a fried rice, some mains and veges to share - my favourite ones were definitely the signature double cooked pork slices and the special braised eggplant. I've never had eggplant cooked like that before! It's an affordable group dinner to check out Master Chen. Thanks for the dinner! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ
